Mary M. McCue
Mary McCue, a senior consultant to Prism, provides investor and public relations counsel, advice and support for publicly-traded companies, trade associations, non-profits and think tanks. She is a specialist in media and investor relations, disclosure policies and crisis communications.
Mary brings to her work a depth of experience in regulatory and financial issues. She served as the Deputy Comptroller for Public Affairs at the Comptroller of the Currency from July 1998 to March 1999. Prior to that, she was at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as the Director of the Office of Public Affairs. From 1984 to 1991, she served three SEC chairmen, providing communications counsel and advice, and managing all external and internal public communications programs. Mary developed and implemented strategies for major breaking news stories and crises, as well as communications on regulatory and legal actions by Commission.
In addition to her government service, Mary has provided strategic counsel to a diverse set of corporations. She was the Director of Media Relations, Assistant Vice President, and then Vice President at the First Boston Corporation (now CS First Boston). There she initiated first media relations program in bank’s history, including communications programs to support marketing of bank to key constituencies. In addition, she has counseled several clients while at Burson-Marsteller, where she was Director, Corporate Practice, as well as Hill and Knowlton, where she provided editorial services. Her clients included financial institutions, publicly-traded companies, financial trade associations, international re-insurance concern, governments, transportation and international oil companies.
