Amanda Deaver
Amanda Deaver has extensive experience in strategic positioning and public affairs campaigns as well as crisis and litigation communications.
Deaver has worked with a broad range of clients, including non-profit advocacy organizations, the nation's leading financial institutions, defense contractors, and leaders in the health care industry, to develop comprehensive communications programs tailored to support public policy objectives. She also has managed high-profile crisis communications for several clients , which has included litigation communications involving Supreme Court cases and state, multi-state and federal litigation.
Before joining Prism, Deaver managed a variety of accounts at Powell Tate, a Washington, D.C., public affairs firm. She coordinated comprehensive crisis management, targeted consumer education, and media outreach campaigns for a prominent lender facing legislative, legal and regulatory scrutiny; and directed a multi-year strategic positioning campaign for a prominent financial services trade association in Washington.
She also managed the communications program in multi-year, multi-suit litigation involving allegations of illegal corporate behavior and violation of international laws. In another case, she provided strategic counsel and public relations support to a national religious leader in civil litigation involving church policy and property disputes.
Before joining Powell Tate, Deaver handled media affairs and program development for youth-serving organizations for six years. She served as director of special projects for Children's Express, coordinating the news service's coverage of the 1996 presidential campaign and nationwide interviews for a book on diversity and citizenship. Deaver also handled media affairs at Advocates for Youth, a national teen pregnancy prevention organization.
