Dale Leibach
As a founding partner of Prism Public Affairs, Leibach offers extensive expertise in media relations and an in-depth understanding of communications strategy borne of senior communications positions he has held on Capitol Hill, in the White House and at Washington's leading public affairs firms. An expert in crisis and litigation communications as well as legislative and regulatory conflicts, Leibach's laudable track record includes helping clients achieve public policy and communications goals often under the most challenging of circumstances.
After serving as Assistant White House Press Secretary, Leibach served as press secretary for Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Sen. Robert G. Torricelli (D-NJ). In the private sector, Leibach managed complex public policy issues and campaigns for a diverse range of clients first at Ogilvy & Mather and then at Powell Tate, a leading public affairs firm, where he was a co-founder and served as managing director. Leibach's many clients have included Fortune 100 companies, small companies, trade associations and non-profits.
Career Highlights:
- Led the media launch and coordinates communications strategy for the "Save Our GPS Coalition" which was formed in opposition to a proposal pending at the Federal Communications Commission which would cause widespread interference to GPS users.
- Leads the communications team for defendants in multi-state, multi-year litigation coordinating both national and local media strategy.
- Actively provides communications counsel to companies facing Congressional investigations or regulatory scrutiny while managing media relations and pressing reporters, editors and producers for accurate and fair reporting.
- Extensive experience working with clients and their attorneys to provide communications counsel that supports the legal strategy in complex litigation matters. Leibach has managed media relations in cases involving investigations and complaints brought by e state Attorneys General, US Attorneys and the U.S. Department of Justice as well as commercial disputes and product litigation. Leibach regularly provides counsel in litigation situations that intersect with public policy issues.
Leibach has also served as Washington public affairs manager for Ford Motor Company and directed internal and external communications for one of the country's largest multi-employer pension funds. He began his communications career as a general assignment reporter for the
The Kansas City Star.
