Gerald M. Rafshoon

Gerald Rafshoon has spent decades in various aspects of communications, including public relations, advertising, politics and filmmaking. He has worked with Prism principals as a senior communications strategist in the White House, Democratic Party politics and private sector projects.

In 1976, Rafshoon, the owner of a highly successful Atlanta advertising agency, was the architect of the advertising and public relations campaign that helped an unknown Southern governor, Jimmy Carter, in his drive to become president. Rafshoon became White House Communications director where, among his many other duties, he devised and coordinated the successful Panama Canal Treaty communications strategy. He founded Washington, D.C.-based Rafshoon Communications, a firm that provides public relations and advertising support.

Rafshoon is the executive producer of 20 motion pictures and movies for television and cable, many of them international co-productions, that include a highly successful 32-hour mini-series based on the Old Testament and the highly-rated political comedy-drama, Running Mates. Rafshoon has won Emmys for both his documentary series and movie mini-series work, as well a series of awards for his national advertising campaigns.

He has regularly consulted on political campaigns and with businesses on their communications and corporate strategies, and is highly experienced in the areas of image development and tourism marketing.
