Mike Gelb
Mike Gelb provides strategic and crisis counsel, issue management, press relations and writing services for public affairs, public relations and communications challenges. He assists clients in positioning issues for key audiences, both external and internal.
A skilled writer, Gelb conceives and produces written advocacy materials including speeches, congressional testimony, op-eds, brochures, and policy papers.
During 15 years as a Washington journalist and 12 years as a senior public affairs counselor, Gelb has been involved in a wide range of public policy issues, crisis situations and litigation matters.
In consultation with legal counsel, Gelb's recent work includes the production of materials related to the Enron matter, asbestos litigation and a pending anti-trust suit involving electronic payments and credit card processing. He has worked with a major credit card company, a major accounting firm, a lender, and a crayon manufacturer involved in class action suits and/or negotiated settlements with government agencies.
Gelb also has managed press relations and served as a spokesperson for corporate clients.
As a journalist, Gelb covered the White House, economic policy and national politics during a decade in Reuters News Agency's Washington, D.C. bureau. He was a founding member of Powell Tate, a Washington, D.C., public relations firm, where he was executive vice president before founding Gelb Strategies in 2001.
