Mike Tetuan
With a background in media and politics, Mike Tetuan is a skilled communicator with years of experience in building communications and media strategies around critical public policy issues and matters in litigation.
At Prism, Tetuan has provided counsel and managed projects for a group of corporations involved in multi-state litigation and a group of trade associations seeking legislation in Congress. He has secured high-impact earned media opportunities and developed effective paid media advertisements for clients.
Before starting at Prism, Tetuan served as communications director for Rep. Jack Quinn (R-N.Y.). Tetuan provided strategic communications counsel and managed day-to-day message delivery through speeches, media outreach, news conferences and events. Tetuan managed media relations for Rep. Quinn during and after Sept. 11, 2001, as New York and the nation struggled to understand complex issues surrounding the attacks. He also developed strategy and messages for significant national issues, such as health care, transportation and veterans, and provided counsel on key local matters.
Tetuan previously served on Capitol Hill as a staff member for Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). As the senator's deputy press secretary, Tetuan helped implement aggressive media strategies to reach constituents in the state's diverse media markets.
Prior to moving to Washington, Tetuan worked as a television anchor and reporter for WXVT Channel 15, a CBS affiliate in Greenville, Miss. As a general news reporter, he covered city and county council proceedings and a wide range of issues. Upon leaving Greenville, the city's mayor presented Tetuan with a “key to the city” for his fair and accurate reporting.
